Despite no arrest order, radio reporter nabbed by police in Manila – NUJP Apr 19, 2021 12:13 PM PHT Jairo Bolledo Despite an existing no arrest order by the Philippine National Police (PNP), police arrested a radio reporter on Friday, April 16, according to a statement of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) on April 19.  Lorenz Tanjoco, a radio reporter of Radyo Pilipinas under PTV 4, was arrested by police from the Police Community Precinct station 10 under the Manila Police District (MPD) after he failed to wear his mask properly while riding his motorcycle in Pandacan, Manila on April 16.   Upon his apprehension, Tanjoco explained to police officers that his face mask was being blown away by the wind so he decided to remove it for a while. The officers did not accept his explanation and a commotion started afterwards.

Precinct commander, policemen relieved over arrest of radio reporter Apr 19, 2021 3:32 PM PHT Jairo Bolledo Manila Police District (MPD) announced the relief of a precinct commander and 4 other policemen under MPD Station 10 after the arrest of a radio reporter in Manila on April 16.  Precinct commander Police Lieutenant Joel Piñon and 4 other policemen from Beata Police Community Precinct in Pandacan were relieved and are now under investigation, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Mupaz of the MPD Public Information Office.  They were transferred to the MPD Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management Division while the investigation is ongoing.  The other relieved policemen are named as:

The CNTV newscast, which started airing on ANC on Monday, April 12, did not air on the cable channel on Thursday, April 15. On Twitter, iWantTFC informed former journalist Jerald Uy on Friday, April 16, “that CNTV will no longer air on ANC.” The verified account of iWantTV chimed in a conversation between Uy and another user on where to find CNTV. “We truly appreciate your support for ABS-CBN and hope that you continue to share with us feedback on our programs,” iWantTFC said in a tweet.

His storied career in show business began in the 60s after he was invited by actor Pete Roa to direct Two for the Road, a late-night TV talk show. He would go on to co-host the program with the late Elvira Manahan.
