Water main flushing in Bancroft to end May 8th

SHARE ON: (Photo credit: supplied) If you notice that your water is coming out a strange colour or the pressure is gone, the Town of Bancroft says not to worry. The Town is currently flushing its water main systems as part of its spring maintenance program. Some streets have already experienced flushings, such as parts of Hastings Street North or York River Drive. Some locations are being done in the next few days, such as Snow Road, Cleak Avenue, Downtown Hastings Street North, Flint Avenue and Bridge Street East, Chemaushgon Road, Forest Hill Road, Airview Drive, Waterhouse Crescent and Nicklaus Drive. Further flushing will occur between Thursday and Saturday in areas around Bridge Street, Harley Road, Billa Road, Newkirk Boulevard, Mill Street, Monk Street, Hastings Street South and any adjacent roads or crescents. Flushing should be finished up by May 8th.

The project will result in possible traffic delays for residents on 22nd Street from Flint Avenue to Gary Avenue, and on Gary Avenue from 22nd Street to 23rd Street. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area, if possible, and to use extreme caution while driving in the construction zone.
