A Cambridgeshire police officer is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted on Monday afternoon, February 8.

A police officer is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted on Monday afternoon, February 8.
The officer, who is in his 20s and a response officer in the north of the county, was conducting a welfare check at a property in Ledbury Road, Peterborough at about 5pm when he was assaulted.
He was taken to Addenbrooke s Hospital in Cambridge where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Joshua Gull, 27, of Herne Road, Oundle, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the incident.

A serial burglar who targeted a Norfolk seafront fish and chip shop during a spate of break-ins has been jailed for more than three years.
Robert Fitzjohn, 41, was arrested in October in connection with break-ins at the businesses in Hunstanton and across the Fens.
Overnight between October 10 and 11 last year he broke into Sally’s Shack Fish and Chip Shop on Seagate in Hunstanton.
He smashed a window after having attempted but failed to gain entry via metal shutters, causing more than £1,500 worth of damage to the shop and stealing a till worth £500.

A man who targeted vehicles for valuables while the owners were asleep has been jailed.
Richard Leleu, 42, of Tebbutts Road, St Neots, struck five times between June 19 and 27 last year.
He was captured either on CCTV or by witnesses entering or attempting to enter vehicles in Park Avenue, Lakefield Avenue, Field Close, Wantage Gardens and Skipper Way, Little Paxton.
On two occasions Leleu successfully broke into vehicles and stole £200 and two debit cards which he used in a nearby garage to buy goods worth more than £80.
At Peterborough Crown Court on January 26, Leleu was sentenced to one year and 12 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of vehicle interference, two counts of fraud by false representation, attempted theft, criminal damage and bicycle theft.

Police A PAIR of sophisticated car thieves - one from Reading - have been jailed for more than four years each after stealing vehicles including BMWs and Range Rovers worth a total of over a MILLION pounds. Juozas Baltors, 28, and Darius Lukauskas, 31, stole 26 luxury cars across Reading, Bracknell and ten counties in less than 100 days - with the total car value coming to £1,010,813. The pair used sophisticated relay equipment to gain access to the keyless-entry vehicles, by scanning and obtaining the victims vehicle key frequencies from inside their homes.

A man breached the conditions of a Criminal Behaviour Order by inviting children over to his house to use his hot tub.
David McIlwain, 42, was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order in June 2017, which forbade him from taking pictures of children and meeting them at pre-planned events.
However, on 22 September 2018, McIlwain communicated with a child and invited them and their friends to use the hot tub at his Ramsey home.
A concerned neighbour alerted the police after they saw three children in the hot tub with McIlwain.
