Southwest announces non-stop flights from Phoenix to Hawaii for $159 By Brent Corrado PHOENIX - Aloha, Southwest Airlines on Thursday announced new non-stop service from Phoenix to Hawaii beginning this summer. Non-stop flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Honolulu and Kahului, Maui begin on June 27. Flights to Kona and Lihue, Kauai begin on September 7. Prices for the new one-way flights begin at $159. The news came as part of Frontier s larger announcement that it will begin service from Burbank. New Frontier destinations from there include Las Vegas and Denver. Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operational design for Frontier, said the airline was excited to add Burbank to its route map. “Frontier offers a robust flight schedule in Southern California and the addition of Burbank will provide an even more convenient and easy to use option for many in the region seeking affordable fares and friendly service to a variety of popular destinations, Flyr said in a press release.
