CANTON The final steel beam is in place for the Constellation Center for Excellence office building at the Hall of Fame Village powered by Johnson Controls.
Members of Iron Workers Local 550, based in Canton, installed the beam Tuesday morning. The traditional ceremony saw a beam outfitted with an American flag, a Christmas tree and a union flag hoisted to the top of the building being constructed near the west end zone of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
It s the first new building on the HOF Village campus as part of the second phase of the development. Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Co. took over the development last year and launched the $300 million second phase of construction.

The Highway 77 Music Festival, announced Thursday by the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Co., is scheduled Sept. 12 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, adjacent to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and within view of Interstate 77.
Other performers at the Sunday event will include Eric Paslay and Tyler Farr. A sixth performer, yet to be announced, is also planned.
“We are excited to announce the Highway 77 festival and look forward to providing thousands of country music fans with a one-of-a-kind event in a dynamic, safe and secure environment, said Michael Crawford, president and CEO of the Hall of Fame Village tourist development project.
