An Alabama born grandmother is dead after police say she was punched in New Orleans’ French Quarter last week and sustained a traumatic brain injury.
A memorial service will be held in Decatur Thursday for Margaret “Jane” Johnson Street, 61, who died April 20 in New Orleans.
According to NOLA.com, New Orleans police arrested Jeremiah Mark, 23, on charges of manslaughter, which under Louisiana law is an unintentional yet unjustifiable killing. He is being held on $100,000 bail. Johnson Street was among nine homicide victims reported in New Orleans over a six-day period beginning April 20.
