SOUTHINGTON, Conn. A Southington man was arrested twice in one day for driving erratically, crashing his vehicle and marijuana possession.
Police said they responded to reports of a blue Cadillac “all over the roadway” that had hit the curb and a mailbox in the area of Old Turnpike Road on Monday night.
When officers arrived, the driver – identified as 23-year-old Jeffrey Bowman of Southington – told them that he was tailgated, causing him to strike a neighbor’s mailbox.
According to a release, police searched Bowman s vehicle after smelling a strong odor of marijuana and discovered a large plastic bag, with five individual bags of a green leafy substance.

SOUTHINGTON â Three people were charged after police said they were riding in a stolen vehicle on Thursday.
The driver, Meriden resident Victor Rombo Ayala, 30, was charged with possessing a weapon in a motor vehicle, second-degree larceny and illegal possession of narcotics. The two others, Wesleye Hoskie, 32, of Waterbury, and Franklyn Steeves, 26, of Meriden, were both charged with second-degree larceny, police said.Â
According Lt. Keith Egan, an officer recognized the vehicle as matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen in Meriden. The description was provided by the Southington Police Departmentâs Auto Theft Task Force Unit, which was formed in February in response to a rash of car thefts.

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. Three men are facing charges after a stolen car was recovered last week, police said.
On Thursday night, Southington officers observed a vehicle in the area of North Main and Mill Streets that matched the description of one stolen from Wallingford.
According to a release, police followed the vehicle into a nearby apartment complex, where it was then parked in the parking lot.

SOUTHINGTONÂ â A man faces charges after police said he displayed a knife at Hollywood Bar and Lounge last month.Â
Kevin Lee Bazilio, 40, of 1073 Jerome Ave., was charged by warrant this week with second-degree threatening, breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespass.Â
On Feb. 2 police responded to Hollywood Bar and Lounge, 1104 Queen St., for a report of a man with a knife inside the business, Lt. Keith Egan said in a release. Staff told police a man, later identified as Bazilio, became argumentative after his debit card was declined and exposed the blade of a folding knife. After leaving, staff locked the doors. Bazilio began banging on the doors and staff called police.Â
