NEWCOMERSTOWN Jeff Staggs, superintendent for the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District, wants district residents to know that the students, staff and administrators for the district appreciate the passage of a recent levy request on the May primary ballot. We are grateful for the support in the passing of our renewal levy,” Staggs said. “A huge Trojan Thank you’ to all voters! This will allow the district to operate in the black. Goooooooo, Trojans!”
Voters in the district approved the levy by a nearly 4-1 margin, 176-45.
Voters in the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District originally passed this 9.2 mill levy in 2005. The operating levy funds can be used “to educate, counsel, support and transport students. Operating dollars are also used to pay staff and upkeep/repair facilities.”
