After flying over the Red Planet, NASA s Ingenuity Helicopter is now set to begin a new demonstration phase
Having proven that powered, controlled flight is possible on the Red Planet, the Ingenuity experiment will soon embark on a new operations demonstration phase, exploring how aerial scouting and other functions could benefit future exploration of Mars and other worlds.
This new phase will begin after the helicopter completes its next two flights. The decision to add an operations demonstration is a result of the Perseverance rover being ahead of schedule with the thorough checkout of all vehicle systems since its Feb 18 landing, and its science team choosing a nearby patch of crater bed for its first detailed explorations. With the Mars Helicopterâs energy, telecommunications, and in-flight navigation systems performing beyond expectation, an opportunity arose to allow the helicopter to continue exploring

NASA s Mars Ingenuity space helicopter is now ready for bigger missions, as the small spacecraft has passed its initial testing and 30 days of existence with the space agency before it is supposed to be discarded. However, worry not, NASA s Mars helicopter would not be discarded just like that, as it would continue with scientific exploration for the human race.

The world is still clueless about what is in or what can be found on the neighboring Red Planet, which is the last of the so-called Terrestrial planets in our Solar System. NASA is looking into its exploration and knowledge, but only these devices like the Perseverance Rover and the Ingenuity Helicopter can venture there, as of now.
