Yemen Health Minister to Asharq Al-Awsat: King Salman Medical City Is a Qualitative Leap for Mahra

A Monday, 28 December, 2020 - 12:15 Yemen’s Health and Population Minister Qasim Buhaibeh. Aden – Ali Rabih Yemen’s Health and Population Minister Qasim Buhaibeh has extolled efforts spent by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) which has inked a fresh deal to implement a series of projects across Yemen. “It is fortunate for the new Yemeni government that its first day at work will be marked with the signing of tremendous projects undertaken by SDRPY, including the construction of the first phase of the King Salman Medical and Educational City in Mahra,” Buhaibeh told Asharq Al-Awsat. For the first phase, a hospital with the capacity of over 100 beds will be built. This will be followed by the construction of a university that includes a medicine faculty.

KSA announces $81m megaprojects in Yemen

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia on Sunday announced a series of development projects in Yemen, including three megaprojects with a combined value of SR303.4 million ($80.91 million), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The contracts were signed in Riyadh by Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber in the presence of Yemen’s ministers of planning and international cooperation, finance, public health and population, transport, and public works and roads. The three Saudi megaprojects in Yemen include the establishment of a SR213 million King Salman Medical and Educational City in Mahra governorate, a SR54.4 million rehabilitation of Aden International Airport, and SR36 million to improve Al-Abr road in the city of Marib.
