The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has started the first phase of the King Salman Medical and Educational City project in Al-Mahra Governorate, Yemen, on an area of one million square meters.
SDRPY’s representative in Al-Mahra Governorate Mohammad Al Hadi said that the first phase of the project would include constructing a fully integrated hospital with a capacity of 110 beds supplied with all its medical equipment.
It would also include major operations rooms, heart operations rooms, intensive care units, hospitalization and maternity sections, a medical evacuation helipad, nursery rooms, and a fully equipped radiology department.
MAHRA: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) on Monday launched the first phase of the King Salman Medical and Educational City project in the Mahra governorate of Yemen.
The project costing SR213 million ($57 million) will be spread over an area of 1 million sq. meters.
Mohammad Al-Hadi, SDRPY representative in the governorate, said the first phase of the project includes the establishment of a 110-bed hospital equipped with modern technology.
He said the hospital would have different departments and a helipad for emergency medical evacuations.
Mahra Gov. Mohammad Ali Yasser visited the project site and praised the Saudi efforts to provide health and educational facilities to Yemenis.

ADEN: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has launched the desert locust control project in Yemen in collaboration with the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and the Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation. The aim of the project is to protect vegetation and agricultural crops, and contain the damage that would be caused by desert locusts in Yemen. SDRPY has provided logistical support to the project including five four-wheel drive vehicles, 100 backpack sprayers, 20 tons of pesticides, five spraying protective suits, 10 emergency bags, five pesticide spray devices for vehicles with a total capacity of 600 liters, five generators, and 10 tents.
