KENYA: Vatican Allows Admission of New Members to Apostles of Jesus Institute
NAIROBI, FEBRUARY 23, 2021(CISA) – The Vatican, through the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life (CICLSAL) has revoked the prohibition on admission of new members to the Religious Missionary Congregation of the Apostles of Jesus Institute (AJ) which has been under rehabilitation for over two years.
“Considering the efforts made so far concerning formation, this Dicastery (CICLSAL) shares the opinion expressed in your request to revoke the provision prohibiting the admission of new members to the novitiate and religious profession, both temporary and perpetual, and to Holy Orders,” Fr Raphael p’Mony Wokorach (MCCJ) read from a letter addressed to the Pontifical Commissariat instituted and mandated by the Holy See the rehabilitation of the Apostles of Jesus Institute.
Lay faithful joined also in the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life as Archbishop Nelson Perez celebrated Mass Feb. 7 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.

There are few more heartwarming scenes than grandparents hugging their grandkids, moments of unconditional love expressed in an embrace between old and young.
Unfortunately, it’s not been a scene we have seen as often in the past year thanks to the pandemic, but Pope Francis has thankfully wrapped his arms around the family once again with his declaration of a World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly to be celebrated annually on the fourth Sunday of July.
It couldn’t have come at a better time, when the world’s older populations have been ravaged by a virus that has killed so many and often meant our senior citizens were isolated from family and loved ones. The tragedy of this pandemic has made us all more aware of the value of our older population and our responsibility to care and nurture that connection between generations.
