On Wednesday, Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States. His presidency follows four years of dramatic changes to the nation’s immigration system and unprecedented restrictions on refugees and asylum seekers.
Already, Biden has promised to reverse many of President Trump’s immigration policies early in his tenure. (CN) Little Rock FBI agents on Thursday arrested the man caught on video repeatedly striking a Capitol police officer with a flagpole during the violent mob attack in Washington last week.
Peter Francis Stager, 41, surrendered himself at a law office Thursday night where federal authorities took him into custody on a charge of obstructing a police officer from his duties during a civil disorder, according to a federal complaint.

DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone was at the Capitol building during the deadly riots and is now describing the harrowing tale of what happened to him:
Thankfully there were some rioters who did help Fanone, which goes to show that the entire crowd of Trump supporters in the building weren’t there lusting to pillage and destroy everything, including Fanone’s life. But clearly some of them were and how they threatened and beat this officer was disgusting.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop led to two arrests. During the roadside investigation deputies found meth, a substance suspected to be heroin and over $9,000 in cash in the car. The driver, 48-year-old Eric Nicholas of Somerset, was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, failure to produce proof of insurance and being a persistent felony offender. Nicholas has a previous charge of trafficking in a controlled substance from 2017, along with evading police in 2012. A passenger, 22-year-old Autumn Decker of McKee, was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Both were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
