FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Authorities are searching for a woman after she allegedly robbed a grocery store in the Pee Dee on Friday.
The Florence County Sheriffâs Office said the incident occurred at 7:56 p.m. at the Aldi on South Irby Street in Florence. Investigators said the woman, wearing a black hood and a pink mask, demanded money from the store clerk at gunpoint.

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI – A man led authorities on a vehicle chase, at times on two wheels, that began in Wisconsin and ended at a home in the Upper Peninsula.
The incident began when the Florence County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin contacted the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office at 10:38 p.m. on Feb. 2 to inform deputies that a suspect was fleeing on U.S. 2 toward the Michigan-Wisconsin border in a 2002 Jeep Liberty.
Dickinson County deputies deployed “stop sticks” at the state line on U.S. 2 near M-95, which the Liberty struck, but the suspect continued to travel toward Iron Mountain on two wheels. A sheriff’s vehicle also sustained heavy damage at the border and needed to be towed from the scene.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A traffic stop in Florence County led to a man allegedly leading police on a short chase before being charged with drugs, weapons, and resisting arrest counts.
According to information from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Bobby Donielle McElveen, of Lake City, was charged Jan. 25 with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and assault on a police officer while resisting arrest.

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â Florence County helped its neighbors to make sure its detention center was well staffed on Sunday.
The Florence County Sheriffâs Office confirmed to WMBF News that Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson requested help after COVID-19 caused a staffing shortage at the detention center.
Sheriff TJ Joye sent four Florence County Detention Center corrections officers to Darlington County to cover a Sunday shift.
The Florence County Sheriffâs Office said the request was for one shift, which has been completed.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) â A joint effort by multiple agencies helped to take five suspects off the streets in connection to several shootings in the Lake City area.
The Lake City Police Department, Florence County Sheriffâs Office and Williamsburg County Sheriffâs Office held a news conference on a series of shooting that took place Sunday night and early Monday morning.
