Two foster kids, aged 12 and 14 allegedly broke into a home in Florida, found several firearms, and then used the guns in a shootout with a police officers.
CNN reports the children escaped from the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, when they found a an empty home nearby and decided to break into it.
In the process of the chaotic incident, the kids held a 30-minute altercation with the deputies which then resulted into a shootout. In fact, one of the kids was threatening to kill one of the officers. She then got shot twice, in the arm and abdomen.

Two children in Florida ran away from a group home, broke into a house and engaged in a shoot-out with law enforcement officers responding to the scene, authorities said on Wednesday (June 2).
A 12-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl found guns inside a home they broke into in Enterprise, Florida, and fired on sheriff’s deputies, the Volusia County sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The 14-year-old girl was shot and wounded after she pointed a shotgun at deputies.
“The 12-year-old boy, armed with an AK-47, finally put down his weapon shortly thereafter and was not injured,” the sheriff’s statement said.
