This violent, armed drug trafficker has been called to account for his criminal conduct, and the citizens of our District are now safer.” Valentine was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture of methamphetamine; 40 grams or more of mixture of fentanyl; 100 grams or more of a mixture of heroin; and marijuana. He also was convicted or possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. 

Fort Walton Beach man killed in collision with tree

Northwest Florida Daily News/USA TODAY NETWORK FORT WALTON BEACH An 88-year-old man was killed early Wednesday in a vehicle crash on Carmel Drive, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The Fort Walton Beach man was driving a sport utility vehicle east on Carmel approaching Beal Parkway just after 3 a.m. when he collided with an eastbound sedan driven by a 26-year-old man from Fort Walton Beach, the FHP reported. After the initial crash, the SUV struck a tree and the older man was killed, according to the FHP.

Fort Walton Beach Council meeting rescheduled due to COVID exposure

Northwest Florida Daily News/USA TODAY NETWORK FORT WALTON BEACH  A City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been delayed to May 18 because of a COVID-19 exposure involving city leadership. According to a news release from the city, there was a confirmed COVID-19 exposure affecting multiple elected officials and members of the city’s administrative staff attending the city’s strategic planning session May 4. As a result, the Fort Walton Beach City Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 18th.

Fort Walton Beach Krewe of Bowlegs 66 Honor Guard set for duties Special to the Northwest Florida Daily News/USA TODAY NETWORK Bob and Tracy Brown Bob was lucky enough to meet Tracy, a Fort Walton Beach native, in Birmingham Alabama. They met while Bob was selling wine and Tracy was managing a restaurant in Five Points South.  After moving around a bit, they settled down in Plano, Texas, to raise their three children: Brandon, Natalie and Nicholas. Once the older two had moved out of the house, they were blessed to be able to move home and have been living in Shalimar for almost two years.
