A man who was rescued from the top of Guanella Pass in the Colorado mountains during a snowdrift in 1982 has been accused of killing two women on the same day.
Annette Kay Schnee, 21, and Barbara Jo Oberholtzer, 29, were last seen alive when they were hitchhiking separately in the Breckenridge area on Jan. 6, 1982. According to the sheriff s office, the two women were shot.

“I thought it was the craziest thing I ever heard of,” Montoya said during a recent interview with 9Wants to Know.
About 15 minutes after he got the call, Montoya made his way to the top of Guanella Pass, where he found the driver, 30-year-old Alan Phillips, stuck in a snowdrift.

“Sure as heck, there he was in his little pickup, and he saw me and said, ‘Oh, God, I’m saved,’” Montoya said. “He said he got drunk and decided to drive home. And I said, ‘You came up over the pass? And he said, well, it seemed like a good idea.’ I thought, how in the heck did this guy get so lucky, for all the stuff to fall into place?”

The Park County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division Deputies were presented with new Angel Armor body Armor, provided by the Organization SHIELD 616 in partnership with local community donors.
Roughly $2,400 per Patrol Deputy was donated to provide each one with a new state-of-the-art vest and helmet. The Angel Armor RISE 2.0 vests come with Truth SNAP 308 C Plates and a Revision BALTSKIN VIPER A3 helmet.
