GLOVERSVILLE The Common Council on Tuesday authorized entering into a $7,200 agreement with C.T. Male Associates to provide engineering services for the city’s 2021 Streets Resurfacing Program.
The resolution approved at City Hall notes the Latham firm is among engineering firms chosen by the New York State County Highway Superintendents Association through a Local Design Services Agreement Program and a resultant consultant list.
Officials said the street resurfacing program includes milling and resurfacing of selected city streets, and installation of handicapped accessible ramps where necessary on each resurfaced street.
Proposed 2021 streets to be resurfaced are: Market Street from East Fulton Street to Washington Street; Monroe Street from E. Fulton Street to Woodward Avenue; South Kingsboro Avenue (overlay only) from East Fulton Street to Clyde Street; Maple Street from Beaver Street to Addison Street; Bloomingdale Avenue from Park Terr

GLOVERSVILLE Boulevard Elementary School reopened to in-person learning today after two full weeks of fully remote instruction due to insufficient staffing levels caused by quarantines related to confirmed positive coronavirus cases. But Gloversville Middle School and Gloversville High School are now closed to in-person learning through the end of the week while staff members quarantine following new coronavirus cases.
All schools in the Gloversville Enlarged School District shifted to fully-remote learning on Jan. 25 due to insufficient staffing levels caused by quarantines and “out of an abundance of caution” following notifications of confirmed coronavirus cases across district buildings.

GLOVERSVILLE Boulevard Elementary School will remain closed to in-person learning this week due to staff quarantines related to a reported confirmed positive coronavirus case. All other schools in the Gloversville Enlarged School District will reopen today following a weeklong shift to fully-remote learning.
All GESD schools shifted to fully-remote instruction for the duration of last week due to insufficient staffing levels caused by quarantines and “out of an abundance of caution” following notifications of confirmed coronavirus cases across district buildings.
Those confirmed infections included three staff members from Park Terrace Elementary School, one staff member from Boulevard Elementary School and one staff member from Gloversville Middle School who tested positive for the coronavirus.

GLOVERSVILLE All Gloversville Enlarged School District students will shift to fully-remote instruction today through the end of the week due to insufficient staffing levels as a result of quarantines related to new confirmed coronavirus cases.
Superintendent David Halloran issued a statement on Sunday informing families of the shift to fully-remote instruction for all students after the district was notified that three staff members from Park Terrace Elementary School, one staff member from Boulevard Elementary School and one staff member from Gloversville Middle School tested positive for the coronavirus.
Following contact tracing; the new confirmed positive cases will require two additional staff members at Park Terrace, one staff member and five students at Boulevard and 14 staff members and 26 students at the middle school to quarantine.
