TROY, N.Y. â Mazzone Hospitality and the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area (BGCCA) recently announced they are holding a fundraising event on Friday, May 14 to benefit the 20 residents displaced by the April 25 fire on 4th Street.
The event includes a spaghetti and meatball dinner as well as a silent auction and will be held at River Street Market, 433 River Street in Troy. Presale tickets for the dinner as well as donations can be placed online at https://bgcalbany.z2systems.com/eventReg.jsp?event=164&.
The spaghetti and meatball dinner is prepared by Mazzone Hospitality and available for $10 each. Included are spaghetti with marinara sauce, meatballs, grated parmesan, red pepper flake, and an Italian roll with butter. Napkins and disposable cutlery are available. The meals will be served for hot takeout by volunteers from Mazzone Hospitality as well as the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Region. The three finalists for the March drawing for the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area Mega Raffle were picked this (Wed.) morning during the KGFX morning show.
Finalists are Nick and Chelsey Renemans, Gary Grittner and Jodi Owen.
Club director Becky Spoehr says this month’s prize is called “Take Me Out.” It includes four tickets to a Minnesota Twins baseball game from DRG Media Group and a $250 travel voucher from First National Bank.

TROY, N.Y. â Steven Figueroa, a community leader with years of experience dedicated to fighting food insecurity and uplifting Troyâs youth, announced his campaign to represent District 2 on the Troy City Council on Saturday.
âGrowing up, I didnât have a lot of opportunities and thatâs what makes me want to do the work I do today â I want to bridge that gap and provide my community the support and resources that I didnât have,â Figueroa said.
âI know I can serve and represent this diverse district with my professional skills and volunteer experience working on the ground, Figueroa explained.
