Tom Wolf’s office said Tuesday. Across Pennsylvania, 40 of the state’s 67 counties are seeing substantial transmission of the coronavirus, according to the Wolf administration. That’s a drop of four counties from last week, when 44 counties were seeing high spread of COVID-19. The percentage of positive COVID-19 tests dropped to 6.6% for the week of April 30 through May 6, down from 7.6% the previous week, according to the Pennsylvania Health Department.

Tom Wolf’s administration said Thursday. Across Pennsylvania, 44 of the state’s 67 counties are seeing substantial transmission of the coronavirus, according to the Wolf administration. That’s a drop of nine counties from the previous week, when 53 counties had substantial transmission of COVID-19. The percentage of positive COVID-19 tests dropped to 7.6% for the week of April 23-29, down a full percentage point from the previous week. The positive test rate was 9.6% two weeks ago. The rate had been rising steadily since late March, although it remained well below the peak of 16% in December.
