Motorists may encounter traffic delays and can expect a detour later this spring as work resumes next week on the reconstruction of a Patton Township intersection.
Work will restart on Monday at the intersection of Bernel and Fox Hill roads near University Park Airport, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The project got underway last August and shut down over the winter.
When completed, the intersection will be reconfigured as a ‘standard T,’ with a stop sign on the Bernel Road approach and Fox Hill Road as the through-road. Dedicated left turn lanes will be added on both roads.

Work to repair a portion of Accomac Road in Hellam Township, York County that was washed out by flash flooding in 2018 will begin next week, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The affected area is between Dark Hollow Road and River Drive, PennDOT said. The road has been reduced to a single lane, with traffic controlled by a temporary signal, since the flooding in 2018, according to PennDOT.

LEWISTOWN The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plans to sweep roadways in the Burnham/Reedsville area early next week.
The work will be performed by Mifflin County PennDOT Maintenance and will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12 and 13.
PennDOT crews plan to sweep along Route 1005 (Main Street) from the intersection of Main Street and West Freedom Avenue in Burnham to the intersection of Main Street and state Route 655 west of Reedsville.
All sweeping activity will be done as a moving operation and motorists are asked to be alert for crews. PennDOT said drivers should anticipate short travel delays.

HARRISBURG, Pa. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that a resurfacing project on Herr Street in Harrisburg is set to begin later this week.
The affected area of Herr Street, which stretches from Cameron Street to Seventh Street, will be closed for 10 days beginning Friday, PennDOT said.
The project calls for milling and resurfacing the roadway, sidewalk replacement, installing ADA curb ramps, sanitary and storm sewer utility line relocations, drainage improvements, and updates to signing and pavement markings, according to PennDOT.
The contractor also will perform column pedestal concrete replacement work and structure fascia wall surface prepping and painting under and around the Norfolk Southern Railroad structure, PennDOT said.
