Rutgers wrestling had been pretty fortunate, all things considered. But that luck has boomeranged in a big way over the last month.
The Scarlet Knights managed to avoid the coronavirus for the most part since they returned to campus in the fall. The program only had a handful of positive tests here and there and no significant training disruptions. But the virus has now knocked out over half of their regular season dual meet schedule after Friday night’s abrupt cancellation of the Maryland match.
Rutgers lost its dual meet against Penn State to COVID-19 issues with the Nittany Lions back in January, then had its own at the worst possible time on the schedule.
