A San Diego County judge will hear arguments to reopen schools

SAN DIEGO A San Diego County Superior Court was initially scheduled to hear arguments in the lawsuit filed against the governor to overturn the state school reopening rules in Vista on Wednesday.
During the virtual hearing, the judge did not make a decision and granted a continuance to give the state time to review the latest cause of action from the plaintiffs. There will be a continued hearing on Monday at 9 a.m. on the matter.
OCEANSIDE
A police officer who walked into a 7-Eleven store in Oceanside early Monday interrupted an armed robbery when she saw a man threatening two clerks with a gun.
The officer entered the convenience store on Mission Avenue near Canyon Drive shortly before 1 a.m. and saw the man pointing a silver revolver-type handgun at the store employees, said police spokesman Tom Bussey.
The gunman fled the store and jumped over a fence into a bus parking area for the Oceanside Unified School District.
Bussey said the officer called for assistance and more police arrived to help search for the suspect.

San Diego-area emergency physician Amy Aminlari saw front-line medical workers at the onset of the pandemic helping patients infected with COVID-19, while not having adequate personal protective equipment.
Aminlari, who tested positive for COVID-19, co-founded Last Mile San Diego to get masks and other personal protective equipment to front-line providers and at-risk communities that didn’t have access to adequate PPE throughout San Diego County.
As part of her efforts, Aminlari, who lives in North County, recently donated 72,000 half-liter hand sanitizers and 3,000 infrared thermometers to Oceanside and presented the supplies to Mayor Esther Sanchez for the communities hardest hit by COVID-19.
