Samsung Electronics has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its efforts in protecting the environment.
The company on Tuesday received two ENERGY STAR awards the Corporate Commitment Award and the Sustained Excellence Award. The ENERGY STAR awards are bestowed on companies that achieve high levels of performance across all areas of energy efficiency.
The Corporate Commitment Award is occasionally given when a company s business achieves an award-winning level of performance in environmental protection. In particular, the rare award this year recognized Samsung s leadership in product efficiency and energy management. Samsung is the first company in nine years to receive the distinction, and just the sixth to win the award in the EPA s history. The honor was last granted to Sears Holdings in 2012.
