BENTON HARBOR, Mich. â Today the Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) alongside the Berrien County Tactical Response Unit (TRU) seized three pounds of marijuana, thirteen pounds of marijuana edibles, four firearms, and a stolen pistol which were all located and seized during a search warrant in Benton Harbor according to a Michigan State Police (MSP) press release.
One man, 27, was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition. using a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and maintaining a drug house.
Angler rescued after falling through the ice on O’Brien Lake
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. Two people who were fishing on O’Brien Lake Wednesday afternoon were rescued after one of them fell through the ice and the other held onto him until first responders arrived, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded just after 3:30 p.m. and located a 76-year-old man who had fallen through the ice. His companion, a 59-year-old man, was on top of the ice holding the victim up with a rope.
A deputy made his way out onto the ice and held onto the victim until more help arrived.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. â A 39-year-old Illinois resident was arrested on narcotics charges over the weekend in Berrien County, according to a news release Monday.
It happened about 11 p.m. Saturday, when a Berrien County Sheriffâs Office deputy saw a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta traveling over 90 miles per hour on I-94.
When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the front seat passenger opened the door and threw something out of the vehicle.
The driver pulled over after the items were thrown out.

WATERVILET TOWNSHIP, Mich. â A 19-year-old Hartford man was arrested Friday morning after fleeing from and pointing what looked like a gun at Berrien County officers, according to a news release.
Watervilet City police tried to stop a driver in a Ford Escape about 9 a.m. for reckless driving on M-140 near Lane Drive in Watervilet Township.
The driver did not pull over and instead entered westbound I-94, with police pursuing him.
He continued refusing to pull over and speeding away, going through the townships of Watervilet, Coloma and Benton before turning around near Pipestone Road and beginning to travel eastbound on I-94.
