Vermeer Believes They Can Vaccinate 1,500 Residents Daily, Pending Supply

Vermeer Corporation aims to be a resource for the community as COVID-19 vaccination supplies become more widespread. Vice President and Chief Information Officer David Corbin says after setting up a clinic in the Vermeer Global Pavilion Friday in collaboration with Marion County Public Health and Pella Regional Health Center staff, they have the capability to administer thousands of shots weekly as long as supply increases to that level. In the meantime, Corbin is hopeful the community will continue to adhere to CDC guidelines in the hopes that the spring and summer of 2021 will be more normal than 2020. Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg visited the site on Friday afternoon and met with leaders from Marion County Public Health and Vermeer. In total, 700 additional residents received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

Vermeer Hosts Vaccination Clinic Friday

Vermeer Corporation hosted a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in partnership with Marion County Public Health Friday. Vice President & Chief Information Officer at Vermeer Corporation David Corbin says more than 700 county residents were able to receive their first dose, with assistance from Pella Regional Health Center and Marion County Public Health staff and volunteers. Corbin says they believe they could vaccine upwards of 1500 people daily with the process they’ve implemented, but that would require a significant increase in the supply of both the Moderna and Pfizer series, as well as the one dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine that was recently granted emergency approval from the FDA. Marion County Public Health is handling the scheduling for the vaccination clinics at Vermeer and other sites in the county, stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for updates.

Van Roekel Named January Shining Star for Pella Regional

Excerpt from her nomination: “Paula has shown exceptional commitment to Pella Regional, especially in the past month. She had the responsibility of administering COVID-19 vaccines to employees in a short period of time. She spent many hours over the holidays administering vaccines to staff. She communicated with all departments to ensure the vaccine was used efficiently, answering questions on scheduling, and lining up extra help to document and organize. Paula’s commitment to Pella Regional shows why she is a Shining Star! Van Roekel will receive $100, a plaque, and be nominated for the Shining Star of the Year award.
