Quinte Health Care ended the last fiscal year with a small surplus and officials are now predicting balanced operating and capital budgets for the current year.
Treasurer John Kearns delivered upbeat reports during Tuesday’s online board meeting.

“The bottom line is that with one-time funding we are going forward with a balanced operating plan for the coming year,” said Kearns, who chairs the board’s audit and resources committee.
Board members voted unanimously to adopt the 2021-2022 fiscal year’s operating and capital plans. The operating budget totals $254 million, the capital one $10.7 million.
The Belleville General Hospital Foundation has received a generous donation from two of it’s own.
BGHF Board Members Peter Knudsen and Bob Doyle put their money together to give $50, 000 to the ‘Be Well Campaign’. The pair are hoping to inspire others to consider giving to the cause. The funds will help buy medical equipment and supplement costs of running the hospital.

When Grant Mumby started his battle with esophageal cancer, he began to lose his hair. His grandson, Dawson Mumby, said he would grow his hair long for his grandfather, âGrandpa had really nice hair, I told Grandpa that I would grow my hair and he could have mine so he wouldnât have to worry about missing his full head of white hair if it fell out during chemo.â
