Though the COVID-19 pandemic has made public large-scale events like the annual Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) Gala impossible to host, BGHF pivoted and hosted an âUnGala Galaâ on Wednesday night. Over 120 viewers joined online to pledge over $163,000 for priority medical equipment at Quinte Health Care â Belleville General Hospital.
BGHFâs âUnGalaâ invited the public to an online auction that ran from Dec 7th and wrapped up Dec 16th.
Belleville General Hospital Foundation Executive Director Steve Cook says, âIn these unprecedented times BGHF has had to evolve and adapt rapidly, looking to alternative methods in order to meet our fundraising goals. We still have our yearly commitment to QHC to provide much needed medical equipment of which we have already given $1.5m.â
