Another quake has rattled the eastern Puget Sound region this week this latest one near Maple Valley. The 3.2 magnitude quake hit about 6 miles south of there just after 9:30 a.m., according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. The seismographs so far estimate its depth at about 12 miles. A 3.2 magnitude quake would be strong enough to be felt in the area, but would not expect to cause any damage or injuries. It was originally given an estimated magnitude of 3.3 but has since been revised down a peg by seismologists.

MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. - Another small earthquake was reported in Western Washington Wednesday morning, this one a 3.2-magnitude near Maple Valley.  It happened around 9:30 a.m. about six miles from Maple Valley. Q13 s Ian Furness said he felt it at his Maple Valley home, like a big wind gust, without the wind! The Maple Valley earthquake is one of several small quakes reported in the Pacific Northwest over the past couple of weeks.

A second small earthquake in as many days has struck the Carnation area, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. The most recent tremblor happened at 6:36 a.m. Tuesday and had a revised measured magnitude of 3.0 after an initial measurement of 3.1, PNSN said. It was centered just about 4 miles east of Carnation and had a depth of just under 12 miles.   Reports on Twitter indicate the quake was felt as far away as Issaquah, Duvall, Monroe and South Everett. There are no reports of damage or injuries and none would really be expected in a quake that minor.
