Summer Games Fest will take place again
E3 2021 will be held from June 12 to June 15. The organisers, Entertainment Software Association (ESA), has announced that it is going to conduct the gaming expo online for this year s edition. The confirmed developers lineup includes Capcom, Konami, Nintendo, Take-Two Interactive, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Games, and Xbox. Notably, Sony hasn t announced its participation yet for this year s event. Last year, ESA had completely cancelled E3 due to the coronavirus pandemic but had announced that E3 2021 will be a “reimagined” event.

It’s official: E3 is coming back this year, and it’ll be an all-digital event. The event will run from June 12-15 and will feature appearances from several of gaming’s mainstay companies, including Nintendo and Xbox. The show is apparently expected to be in-person again starting next year (cross your fingers the world gets sorted out by then).
The website describes the show as “an all-virtual event that will engage everyone, everywhere” and “a reimagined and hyper-engaged digital experience.” Note that this is the first time the show has gone digital. It was canceled full-stop last year also a first in the show’s history. Most of the major companies still had their own digital events, but we had no one definitive summer event to make up for E3’s absence.
E3 is back! Virtual showcase set for June 2021
It’s fair to say we’ve been through a lot in the last year. It wasn’t a total surprise when it was announced that E3 2020 would be cancelled due to the pandemic. Thankfully the long-running event is returning for 2021 in an all-virtual showcase.
Yes, it’s “game on” again for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, with early commitments from gaming giants like Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games and Koch Media, with more to come. The event is scheduled to run from June 12 through June 15.
E3 2021 will bring the latest news and games from developers directly to fans. It’s set to be a completely free event, meaning audiences can tune in from around the world to be part of the showcase.
Here is another big show on the PC enthusiast and gamer radar that has been confirmed to be in all-digital format this summer. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has stated that the E3 2021 show will be all-virtual this year and has already confirmed commitments from the likes of Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, Koch Media.
With the quelling of a global pandemic at sake, perhaps it is right to be cautious with plans involving huge gatherings in typically crowded indoor spaces. So the virtual event must be welcomed rather than having no event at all. Furthermore, in some ways the virtual events are better for those that couldn’t or wouldn t physically attend, as it means the companies involved make better online resources available for all to fully soak up their offerings / presentations.

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today unveiled the plans for the return of the yearly video game-focused event Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) following last year s absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As originally planned, the organization is going ahead with a reimagined, all-virtual E3 2021 that will take place from June 12 through 15.
While some reports had surfaced earlier insinuating that the event would enable paid viewing facilities, ESA has confirmed that all content from the show will be completely free to consume for viewers. For more than two decades, E3 has been the premier venue to showcase the best that the video game industry has to offer, while uniting the world through games,” said ESA CEO and President Stanley Pierre-Louis. We are evolving this year’s E3 into a more inclusive event, but will still look to excite the fans with major reveals and insider opportunities that make this event
