Argument over over failure to buy bananas triggers violent confrontation between brothers

02:55 EDT, 3 March 2021 26 shares A man has beaten his brother with a broomstick and threatened to kill him after an argument over a failure to buy bananas spiralled out of control.      Roger Glenn Cameron Clarke, 50, threatened his brother, Ivan, and his brother s partner, Rhonda Rooklyn, at their property in Nashua, inland of Byron Bay, on February 20.  Clarke was living in a caravan on the couple s property and had asked his brother to buy some bananas while in town.  A man has beaten and  threatened to kill his brother after he forgot to buy some bananas (pictured: stock image of bananas)  But when Ivan returned just before 1pm without the bananas, Clarke threatened to kill Ivan and Ms Rooklyn.

Roger Glenn Cameron Clarke, 50, was staying with his brother, Ivan, and his brother s partner, Rhonda Rooklyn, at their Nashua property when the incident broke out on the evening of February 16 this year. According to court documents, Clarke began staying in a caravan and using an adjacent shed on the property late last year. On the morning on February 16, Clarke asked his brother to pick up some bananas for him while he was in town. Shortly before 1pm, Ivan returned and said he d forgotten the bananas, court documents said.

Court heard motorcyclist attacked over intolerable noise

Leon Geoffrey Murray, 41, faced Byron Bay Local Court on Monday to be sentenced for a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The court heard Murray took issue with another man s loud revving of a motorbike at the Shell service station in Suffolk Park on the afternoon of July 26 last year. The court heard he verbally conftonted the man before punching him twice. The motorcyclist suffered a cut lip, sore jaw, chipped teeth and soreness to his spine.
