DNA evidence is yet to be filed in the case against two men charged with carrying a commercial quantity of cannabis concealed in a truck.
Phu Long Tien, 24, and Quan Khai Tran, 23, from the Brisbane suburb of Inala, were arrested on the night of November 19 last year.
Police will allege they had stopped the truck travelling north on the Pacific Highway at Ewingsdale and after searching the vehicle, found 84kg of cannabis.
The men are each charged with supplying a commercial quantity of cannabis and drug possession. Police will allege the cannabis was concealed in the rear of the truck.

Subscriber only One of three men facing serious cocaine charges is spending time in rehab, a court has heard. Suffolk Park man Scott Edward Biber, 57, Broken Head man Michael Robert Birch, 67, and Lennox Head man Philip David Emanuele, 50, are each facing numerous charges related to the alleged supply of cocaine in the Byron Bay area. Police will allege Mr Biber was found with 1.1kg of cocaine in his possession on January 9 last year. Police will allege he had the drug concealed in a fire extinguisher at the time. The other men were arrested as a result of related investigations.

Subscriber only A man facing drug charges after police allegedly found a stash of drugs and cash in his vehicle near Byron Bay was a stroke of the pen away from having an arrest warrant issued this week, a court has heard. Robert Vandermeer, 58, from Rathmines - south of Newcastle - was arrested on December 30 last year after police stopped his vehicle at the Byron Bay interchange on the Pacific Highway in Ewingsdale. Police claim they stopped Mr Vandermeer s vehicle after he allegedly failed to use his indicator. They will allege they found a range of drugs including cannabis leaf, cannabis resin, MDMA, cocaine and LSD as well as $21,700 cash in his vehicle.

Subscriber only A man serving time behind bars for his part in a violent attack at a Byron Bay caravan park will appeal his sentence. Braiden Isaac Ward, 28, from Halfway Creek, was sentenced to 12 months behind bars in December. His non-parole period was due to expire in April. Ward was not required to appear by video link from custody when his case was mentioned before Byron Bay Local Court on Monday. A bail application was initially expected to go before the court, but this was withdrawn. Ward was convicted in his absence of the two counts of two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault in July last year.
