Idaho Falls Fire Department has several members who are trained in swift water rescue who train on the Snake River in summer and winter conditions. IDAHO FALLS – A man is in stable condition after being rescued from the Snake River in Idaho Falls Saturday morning. The rescue occurred at 10:45 a.m., according to a news release from the Idaho Falls Fire Department. The 56-year-old man and his wife were walking their dog near the river at the Gem Lake Marina. The dog fell in the water and the man went in to get it out. The dog made it out safely, but the man couldn’t pull himself out.
