DUP DESIGNATE leader Edwin Poots is expected to talk to party members before naming his new Stormont ministerial team.
The Lagan Valley MLA, who on Friday narrowly defeated Sir Jeffrey Donaldson to become the fourth DUP leader in the party s 50-year history, is widely expected to initiate a reshuffle that will see Education Minister Peter Weir and Economy Minister Diane Dodds demoted.

DESPITE the strong local opposition to fracking in Fermanagh being repeated time and time again, Economy Minister Diane Dodds appears intent on continuing with “research” on the practice here in the county.
As reported in the Herald last week, the consultancy firm hired by the Department of the Economy to carry out the research into the highly controversial process of extracting gas, officially known as hydraulic fracturing, was left in no doubt as to the local opposition to the practice here in Fermanagh.
At a special meeting held recently with Hatch Regeneris, the councillors present made the local opposition to fracking of any kind clear in no uncertain terms, pointing to the risks to local health and to the local economy, which depends on tourism

A Sinn Féin MLA has told a Stormont committee that the DUP’s boycott of North/South meetings is causing damage to the local economy, as Economy Minister Diane Dodds briefed members on a new recovery action plan.
Mrs Dodds launched the new 10X Economy strategy this week which she said would lead to better jobs, wages and quality of life for people in Northern Ireland.
The new strategy identifies 10 guiding principles which include supporting a greener economy, inspiring the future generation to thrive, delivering improved outcomes for all and increasing innovation.
