He said that the discussion was still taking place between Waka Kotahi and the Selwyn, Waimakariri, and Christchurch City councils, alongside Environment Canterbury (ECan) about what sort of rapid transit Christchurch might be getting. Wood said regional leaders would be producing a mass rapid transit plan which would land on his desk “in the next couple of months”. “At this stage it s a regional discussion to look at the options, to consider the case and to come forward with how we should move the project forward,” Wood said.
