Coward: Ignorance is not the same as bravery. Firstly, the Malaysian public may have underestimated the severity of Covid-19.
But now, we have a minister whose ignorance caused him to bravely state that the government’s effort to combat Covid-19 is a success, using the people’s ignorance as the yardstick.
While Joe Public has to shoulder some responsibility for the seriousness of the Covid-19 situation, the government is not blameless. The government failed to explain the seriousness of the pandemic to the people.

Vijay47: This is truly a sad tale where a simple seed grew into huge unwelcome proportions. The whole issue may have remained a passing breeze but for the arrival of a gang of villains to stir the broth to a boil. More on these cads later. No, it is not the butler who did it.
Let us look at the sorry story from the beginning. The Queen shared on social media her visit to the palace kitchen and the dishes or snacks she had helped prepare.
A fellow Instagram user asked whether the kitchen staff had already been vaccinated, implying by extension his concern for her safety. In utmost innocence, in carefree banter, the Queen then responded in those two words now haunting a nation, “Dengki ke?”

Gerard Lourdesamy: A health crisis is being used by an unelected government without a clear majority in Parliament to control and stifle freedom of expression, speech and of the press, and undermine, if not weaken, the Constitution.
Why is Perikatan Nasional (PN) so afraid of the rakyat questioning its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and the emergency? The rulers should step in and put an end to this ‘fake’ emergency.
Dr Raman Letchumanan: Who decides that something is fake news? The arresting officer? The government? Does it require a police report before investigation and arrests?

YOURSAY | If we have more MPs of such stature, there is still hope for a very bright future.
Public Transit Is Better Than Highways: As someone who has had the opportunity to meet Deputy Speaker Azalina Othman Said in person, I can comment that she is a sharp, intelligent and overtly liberal than her BN counterparts, which sometimes makes me question whether if she, like her colleague Khairy Jamaluddin, is stepping out of the party line.
However, her letter delivered to the attorney-general and the Prime Minister’s Office is a sharp rebuttal against this treacherous act of preventing democracy by suspending parliamentary and legislative houses in every state. If I were to guess who had written this piece from the BN, with the name omitted, I would’ve suggested Azalina.
