Wayne Paul Leeder was stopped driving a blue Citroen C1 on the M275 near Portsmouth. The 40-year-old of Ainsley Gardens in Eastleigh was found to have 97 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35 microgrammes making him 2.7 times the limit. Leeder pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on October 8 last year. Appearing at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Monday he was disqualified for 24 months and fined £850. He must pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
A woman has been handed a community order for stealing cosmetics. A SHOPLIFTER who stole two lots of cosmetics from a Hampshire chemists on the same day has been handed a community order. Sophie Amy Fifield, 27, of Balfour Close, Gosport, pleaded guilty to the two offences when she appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates Court. Both offences were committed at the Gosport branch of Boots PLC on January 11, the court was told. The first offence involved the theft of cosmetics valued at £57. As well as being made the subject of a community the defendant was told to pay £57 compensation and a £38 victim services surcharge.

Isle Of Wight Teenager Charged Following Police Officer Assault

The 16-year-old is due to to appear in court today (Friday).
Hampshire Constabulary was called to Albany Road just before 12pm yesterday (Thursday).
Police located a girl on St James Street where an officer sustained a head injury.
A teenager, from Ryde, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and three counts of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
