U.S. 35 crash leaves one person dead By: Maura Johnson
LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. – One person has died following a crash on U.S. 35 in Center Township Monday morning, the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 11:43 a.m., deputies were called to the 3900 north block of U.S. 35, in rural Center Township, for reports of a personal injury crash.
At 11:50 a.m., deputies arrived to the scene and confirmed one person had been killed in the crash.
According to reports, a red 2015 Volkswagen passenger vehicle, driven by 51-year-old Corbin Gayheart of Knox, was traveling north on U.S. 35 when, for an unknown reason, Gayheart drove left of center and into the southbound passing lane.

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. – The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a vehicle connected with a theft that occurred on April 20, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
The theft occurred in a La Porte High School parking lot.
