CEBU CITY – The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7) fully supports newly installed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.
Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, chief of PRO 7, said the successor of the now retired Police Gen. Debold Sinas has what it takes to lead the 210,000-strong PNP.
“Our police in Central Visayas are much willing to support him. I know him well. He was my regional director when I was the district director of the Quezon City Police District. I know his skills, talent, dedication, and passion to work,” Montejo said of the 26th PNP chief.

CEBU CITY – Laptops, printers, and other equipment that will help provide “effective, efficient, and quality services to the people” were donated by a telecommunication company to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Monday.

Apart from Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards that come with free loads, the company also donated tents, tables, and chairs that will be used by CCPO in strategic checkpoint areas.

CEBU CITY – Three policemen were relieved from their posts after they were accused of raping a woman in San Fernando, Cebu last Saturday.
Police Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7), said he was enraged upon learning the alleged abuse but he was also informed that it was just fabricated. “Based on the initial investigation, there were inconsistencies in the statement of the woman,” Montejo said.
Police Lt. Col. Alejandro Batobalonos, chief of the Integrity Monitoring and Enhancement Group-Visayas Field Unit (IMEG-VFU), informed Montejo Sunday that a woman appeared before their office accusing three personnel of the San Fernando Police Station of rape.
CEBU CITY Police here will continue their own version of community pantry dubbed as “barangayanihan” even after President Duterte’s pronouncement that such activities may cause the spread of COVID-19.

Unless there is an order for an extension from President Duterte, Sinas will end what has been a colorful six-month stint as PNP chief.
And for the controversial police officer, he believed that he was able to deliver what was expected of him.
“I did my best, I served the people and the PNP, and I believe I made a difference,” Sinas said at the sidelines of the inauguration of a newly constructed police station in Danao City, Cebu last Friday.
Duterte named Sinas as chief of the 200,000-strong PNP last Nov. 10.
