Raiders Moe, Nachbaur and Paddock to play their final WHL game tonight

Raiders win wild season finale against Broncos in overtime - Prince Albert Daily Herald

Prince Albert Daily Herald Moe, Nachbaur and Paddock wrap up WHL careers The strangest season in Prince Albert Raiders history concluded on Wednesday night with one of the most bizarre contests the team has ever taken part in. With the team holding a 5-3 lead over the Swift Current Broncos at the 8:01 mark of the third period, Raiders netminder Max Paddock was given a snow shower by Broncos forward Josh Davies and proceeded to pummel him in the face as both players were down in the crease during a post-whistle scrum. As a result of the play, Davies was given a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, but Paddock was given a five-minute match penalty and a game misconduct for what the officials deemed as an attempt to injure.

Jamie Nye: The WHL hub ends with many deserving of applause

Saskatoon / 650 CKOM Apr 29, 2021 7:22 AM Let’s give credit where credit is due. The Western Hockey League, the Regina Pats, Evraz Place and the University of Regina gave some young men an opportunity to play. After the WHL had its season and playoffs ripped away last year, the league did its all to get players back on the ice. I remember Pats general manager John Paddock telling the Green Zone they owe it to the young men to do all they can to give them what was promised, which is a competitive environment and opportunity to advance their hockey careers. So the league went to work and the hours of back and forth with the government and the partners to get the approval paid off.

Broncos conclude season with overtime loss | The Southwest Booster

Broncos conclude season with overtime loss April 29, 2021 The Swift Current Broncos concluded the 2020-21 Western Hockey League regular season with points in their final three games after a 6-5 overtime loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday in Regina. The Broncos erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to force overtime before Ozzy Weisblatt scored on a partial breakaway to end the East Division season. “I thought early we were just a little bit too cute with the puck,” said Head Coach Dean Brockman. “We passed up on opportunities to shoot the puck and create a little bit more offense. We got ourselves into a little bit of penalty trouble. It seemed when we almost had it killed off they’d get a little bounce or a break here and there. I give our guys a lot of credit, I thought they showed some resiliency coming from behind and playing hard.  A lot of teams or guys would have said the hell with it. Each man that played tonight I thought played as hard as he

Raiders win the last one for Moe, Nachbaur and Paddock

Max Paddock’s career also ended on Wednesday night, but in a much more unusual way. Paddock was ejected after receiving a match penalty for striking Bronco forward Josh Davies with his blocker after Davies gave Paddock a snow shower and ran into the Raider goaltender in the third period. But instead of sulking about it in the showers, Paddock nervously watched from the tunnel in the hopes that the group of guys he became so close with since last year’s trade deadline could pull off the victory. “They’re my brothers out there. Unfortunately, I took a penalty that got me out of the game, but I wanted to be there to support them. We spend every single hour of the day together for the past two months, you’ve been playing video games we’re always hanging out. They’ve grown to be my brothers in that dressing room, so I just wanted to be there for them and support them any way I could. Fortunately, they pulled it off.”
