A 51-year-old Boonville man is facing a felony in relation to a juvenile runaway.
On March 2, Boonville Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Roberts Street regarding a runaway juvenile.
Authorities discovered through text messages received that John Gene Torres was waiting to pick up the juvenile. Torres allegedly took the juvenile, without permission, out of the state of Missouri for payment. After being made aware of the juvenile’s runaway status, Torres refused to take the juvenile to the nearest law-enforcement agency.
Torres pleaded not guilty in March to a Class E Felony for Child Abduction. Torres posted $20,000 surety bond on March 23, 2020.
A Boonville man who was facing a couple of felonies after a reported incident on July 23 has had the charges amended.
According to the a police report, authorities were contacted regarding a domestic assault in New Franklin. A woman told authorities she was at home in bed sleeping with her bedroom door locked at 10 a.m. She heard Tristan Rhorer in her house and told him to get out; he was not invited because they had broken up when he was in prison. Rhorer refused to leave and kicked open the bedroom door, grabbed the woman and began hitting her in the face and throwing her around the room. Rhorer told the woman he wanted her keys and two handguns. The woman would not give them to him, so Rhorer grabbed her and threw her against the wall; hit her several more times in her face; had his hands around her neck; stomped on her left foot; and took the keys to her car and house. The woman was able to get free and run to the basement, where she’s hid until Rhorer left. The woman said she
