The Archbishop of Ibadan Province of the African Church, The Most Reverend Augustine Odufuwa, has called on the Federal Government to quickly put an end to incessant killings and kidnappings in Nigeria.
The archbishop, delivering his address at the 3rd Biennial Congress of The African Church, Ibadan Province, held at The Ebenezer African Church, Cathedral, Anfani, Ibadan, on Saturday, said: “It is so painful that communities, villages and farmlands are invaded at will.
“Human lives have no value again. People are killed and kidnapped at will and for the past fifteen years, the government has no solution to it.

Addressing a press conference at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja on Monday, Saraki said the opposition party will continue to proffer solutions to insecurity and other challenges confronting the country.
The former senate president said pressure through constitutional means will yield results that the citizens yearn for.
“We, the opposition party, will continue to play our own role in letting the government be aware of lapses and continue to put pressure through constitutional means in telling them what they need to do, so we will not get tired,” he said.

“When you see changes in the world, it has gone through constitutional means. It might look like a long journey but the truth will prevail and the right thing will be done.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the spate of insecurity in parts of the country, should not call for playing to the gallery or playing of politics and that “no one be in doubt as to the urgency and capacity of the President Buhari-led government”.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counsels the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the House of Representatives to stop whining over the decision of some APC members to quit their party in the face of widespread discontentment trailing the failures of the APC and Buhari administration to address the rising insecurity and excruciating economic hardship ravaging our country,” the statement read.
“The PDP also berates the APC leadership in the House of Representatives for resorting to personal attack on the Minority Leader, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, for informing Nigerians of the decision of the APC lawmakers to join forces with the PDP in our quest to rescue our nation from the misrule of the APC.
