The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta, Apostle Ayi, has lauded the Interim Administrator, Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (retd), for sustaining the peace in the Niger Delta region.
Ayi, who spoke in Calabar, Cross River State, weekend, during his family thanksgiving, said he and his colleagues were in admiration of the steps taken so far by Dikio to restore the dignity of PAP.
He said Dikio’s constant tours of the region and his consistent engagements with critical stakeholders had calmed frayed nerves in the Niger Delta.
He said Dikio’s efforts in maintaining the peace had enabled the Federal Government’s projects to go on unhindered and safeguarded critical assets in the Niger Delta.

Group backs Akwa Ibom militants’ call for Dikio sack Alao Abiodun
By Bassey Anthony, Uyo
Another militant group, the Niger Delta Volunteers (NDV), has supported a call by Akwa Ibom militants for the sack of the Presidential Amnesty Programme’s (PAP’s) Interim Administrator, Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (retd).
A body, ‘Uyekisong’, last week initiated the campaign for the removal of Dikio for alleged discrimination and marginalisation of militants from Akwa Ibom State.
It demanded that Dikio be replaced with a substantive special adviser/coordinator.
Following a statement yesterday in Uyo by the NDV President General, his deputy, Gen. Ekpo Ekpo and Capt. Nsidibe Etim, it insisted on restructuring of the programme to meet its mandate.

Amnesty’s scholars commend Dikio

The leadership of COSPAP at a briefing.
Students have commended the interim administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col Milland Dikio(rtd), for keeping to his words in the payment of stipends, which gave them hope and a sense of belonging.
The students, on the platform of Coalition of Students in the Presidential Amnesty Programme, COSPAP, said in several meetings with Dikio, he always affirmed his promises that everyone, especially scholars who have been unjustifiably denied of their stipends for about 48 months, would be paid.
The students urged the Federal Government to make Col Dikio(rtd) the substantive administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, because he had proved to be a good and dependable leader.
