A former militant leader, Ebikabowei Victor-Ben, popularly called ‘General’ Boyloaf has accused Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio and other federal appointees from the Niger Delta of playing politics with the region’s development.
He lamented that Akpabio was turning the ministry and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) into Akwa Ibom State Government House extension.
He stated this on Village Square Africa, a television programme, stressing that Akpabio and others were fighting one another over their 2023 political aspirations.
He, however, absolved the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Col. Milland Dikio (rtd.) from complicity in the challenges facing the PAP.

The federal government said it is considering using Maritime University, Okerenkoko, in Warri South West Local Government Area to train beneficiaries of the presidential amnesty programme.
The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Dickson Diko (Rtd), stated this when he visited the institution as part of his tour to the region.
Col. Diko who was conducted round the university facilities by the Registrar, Mr. Nathanael Eseoghene, said the amnesty office would carry out a holistic inspection of the Nigerian Maritime University, which according to him, must be in alignment with the policy to train the beneficiaries in a suitable environment to enhance their natural talent.

As Nigeria continues to groan under security challenges, a non-profit making organisation, One Love Foundation, OLF, Tuesday, alleged 15, 000 police personnel are attached to some Nigerians referred to as ‘special Nigerians’ or Very Important Persons, VIPS, and corporate organisations.
Expressing concern over millions of Nigerians who are left to their fate and at the mercy of criminal elements, the Founder, OLF, Patriot Patrick Eholor, said the order to withdraw police personnel attached to some Nigerians by the former Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, was not implemented until he left office.
Eholor said: “Sincerely, I doubt the feasibility of the order for the withdrawal of police officers attached to very important persons (VIPs), because complying with the order would be a serious challenge without reforming the Nigeria Police.

THE Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dikio, (retd.), has said youths in the Niger Delta region are no longer interested in arms struggle, but the dominance of intellectual space, science and technology.
Dikio, who maintained that it was time for the youth of the Niger Delta to shun violence, called on the National Assembly to help in building the network needed to reposition the Niger Delta as place to live and do business.
He spoke on Saturday at Agadagba Obon, Arogbo, Ondo State, during the graduation of PAP delegates trained by Bradama International Skill Works Limited in pipeline welding/fabrication, quality assurance/quality control, sandblasting, general safety, electrical installation and maintenance.
