UAE opens kidney dialysis centre in Hargeisa, Somaliland

HARGEISA, 23rd January, 2021 (WAM) A delegation from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has opened a kidney dialysis centre in the Republic of Somaliland for the benefit of more than 30 patients per day.
The move comes in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the direct follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Foundation.

Dr. George Manneh Weah, on Friday, January 22, 2021 received Letters of Credence from the new United States Ambassador to Liberia, Michael A. McCarthy, at his Foreign Affairs Ministry office. President Weah used the occasion to thank President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their inauguration and the peaceful transition of power from the administration of former President Donald Trump. President, who described the US as a model of democracy around the world, said Liberia takes special note of the transition, given the fact that “we also went through similar transition three years ago.”

MONROVIA – Minister of Labor, Cllr. Charles Gibson is back in the spotlight for allegedly tampering with the bidding process that could see Liberia’s residence and work permit data land the hands of a Dubai company that has no experience in handling national security documents and data.
The bid is intended to procure the professional services of an ideally competent and experienced digital international vendor to deliver goods and services for the procurement of digitalized Residence and Work Permits under a contractual agreement beginning FY2020/2021.
