Prescott Valley Police Looking For Two Suspects In Connection With An Auto Theft With Shots Fired Saturday – KAFF News – Flagstaff

Prescott Valley Police are looking for two suspects in connection with an auto theft with shots fired Saturday evening. Witnesses saw a possible auto theft at around 6 p.m. on the 62-hundred block of Cattletrack Drive. Witnesses followed the vehicle to the area of the seven-thousand block of Burro, where the two suspects got out of the vehicle and ran. Witnesses then chased after the males, when one of them took out a handgun and started to fire. The victims were not injured and retreated and called 911. Officers responded but didn’t find the suspects, but found the stolen vehicle. Another witness says one of the males got into a newer model silver Chrysler 200 with temporary plates. One of the suspects is described as a white male, in his teens or early 20s. The second is described as a black male with longer hair, from the teens to the early 20s. The Town of Prescott Valley is joining other communities around the country and providing “Safe Exchange Zones.” The areas are clearly marked for people to meet, sell their goods, or to safely conduct child custody cases. Prescott Valley Police will have clearly designated areas established in specific parking areas in front of the police station for these types of interactions. The benefits of having a Safe Exchange Zone in the police department parking lot include increased police patrol presence, 24/7 surveillance monitoring of the zone, and quick police response times.

However, reports of Chief Roser’s communication style with his management team, which included the use of profanity, name calling and other disrespectful conduct were sustained. The investigation recommended a two-day unpaid suspension and a letter of reprimand, along with remedial training on “Emotional Intelligence” and “Code of Conduct.” Roser joined the department in November of 2019 and spent nearly 30 years with the Phoenix Police Department, the last ten years as shift commander. He returned to work on Monday.
