A father has today been charged with the triple murder of his partner and two of his children, one of whom was a three-week old baby, over a six-year period.
Man accused of killing his younger brother has murder charge dropped A man who was charged with murder following the death of his brother has admitted a lesser charge of assault. Police were called at around 6.40pm on Saturday September 5 to an incident in which a man had been assaulted near to Barclays Bank in Lancaster. Officers were then subsequently called at 10.15am on Monday September 7 to a house in Chestnut Grove, Lancaster, following reports of a sudden death. Police were quickly able to establish that the man who had died was 46-year-old Seamus Cuffe, who was also the victim of the earlier altercation on Saturday September 5.
A man accused of attempting to meet up with a 13-year-old girl has been remanded in custody. Lee Bond is alleged to have tried to contact the girl with a view to committing a sexual act. The 34-year-old is alleged to have committed the offence in 2020. At South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court, the defendant, of Redshaw Avenue in Barrow, was ordered to spend time in custody until appearing at Preston Crown Court on January 18. A man has been sentenced after he admitted attempted possession of a class A drug. Latham Martin John Burke, of Barrow’s Raglan Court, pleaded guilty to attempting to possessing a quantity of heroin when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court.
A VIOLENT thug has been jailed for savagely beating an Irish grandad to death and pouring paint over him at the request of his vengeful girlfriend.
David Carney and Tracey Fielding were arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of Raymond Cullen was found at his home address in Bold Street, Fleetwood on October 10, 2019.
Mr Cullen, who was known locally as ‘Irish Ray’, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, having suffered a violent assault, including significant head injuries and bruising to his arms, legs and body.
Ray (55) was born and raised in Ireland but had lived in the UK for many years and was a popular figure in the Lancashire area.
