Fenland doctors act to reassure patients over vaccination worries  | Updated: 16:23, 16 March 2021 Doctors at Fenland GP practices have posted a lengthy post to reassure patients amid concerns raised by other countries on the Astra-Zeneca Covid-19 vaccine. Medics from the six practices in the March and Chatteris areas who are helping to run the Doddington Vaccination Centre have posted to their centre s Facebook page to offer the following reassurance. Firstly, your doctors are really concerned about the hysterical press coverage and behaviour of other countries in Europe, about the safety of the Astra-Zeneca vaccine. CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON ROBOTICS RESEARCH CENTRE   Construction has started on a research facility for robotics and AI, based at Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh campus, the National Robotarium. The facility is supported by a £21 million funding from the UK government, and £1.4 million from the Scottish Government as part of the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Region Deal. Expected to open in spring 2022, the National Robotarium will create innovative solutions to global challenges using research, product design and industry collaboration. The project will bring together academics and global companies to provide a catalyst for entrepreneurship and is expected to deliver sustainable economic benefit to Edinburgh and the UK.

More than 100,000 people vaccinated against COVID-19 in north Cumbria More than 100,000 eligible people in north Cumbria have been now had a vaccination for COVID-19. The NHS says 109,956 vaccinations have been given at hospital hubs and through our GP teams working together in Primary Care Networks. The latest verified figures from NHS England published today show: 70,326 over-65s have had their first vaccine 35,178 under-65s have had their first vaccine 2,314 over-65s have had their second vaccine 2,138 under-65s have had their second vaccine This means 92.9 per cent of the over-65 population in north Cumbria have had at least one dose of the vaccine.
