Dr Teshk Nakshbandi from Kingstone Surgery vaccinating local resident Leonard Barwick-Clarke on Saturday morning MORE than 1,000 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Herefordshire over the weekend. GPs and nurses from six primary care networks, supported by an organised team of local volunteers, started the first Covid-19 vaccination programme in Ross-on-Wye on Saturday morning, December 19. Clinicians from local surgeries including Alton Street, Pendeen, Fownhope, Much Birch, Golden Valley and Kingstone, worked tirelessly to deliver the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine to a total of 359 people on the first day. And by Monday night (December 21) more than 1,000 people were inoculated. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines only have a short shelf-life once delivered to their destinations, so the clinicians had just three days to use all the vials.

ONE of Bradford’s most prominent buildings has been turned into a rapid Covid-19 testing site. St George’s Hall, in the heart of the city centre, is being used for the new testing programme, along with Airedale Shopping Centre in Keighley. Lateral Flow tests, which give results in 30 minutes, will be used in a bid to identify asymptomatic people who have Covid-19.

Pilot draws giant Pac-Man flight path over Lincolnshire

The pilot of an aircraft flying over Lincolnshire created a game of Pac-Man while ten miles up in the sky.
The private display happened on Sunday morning, and shows the plane flying over areas of Lincolnshire to create the shape of Pac-Man and the ghost.
The visuals could be seen on FlightRadar24, a flight tracker which shows the journey of planes in the air.
Taking off from Retford Gamston Airfield in Lincolnshire, the pilot flew north over the Lincolnshire Wolds to create his quirky masterpiece.
Covid-19 vaccinations have started in Bexley, south east London. The first Covid-19 vaccinations in Bexley began this week, and 975 patients have already received the ground-breaking vaccine.
Bexley Primary Care Network (PCN), a group of four local GP practices, has begun the roll out of the vaccine offering it to people aged over 80 years. Dr Clive Anggiansah, the GP clinical lead (Bexley) for the NHS South East London Clinical Commissioning Group said: Logistically, this has been an extremely challenging project, but we are very happy to have started the roll out of the vaccination in Bexley. It is important patients remember, however, that when it is their turn for a vaccination, they will be contacted by the NHS and offered an appointment.
