Braga Fresh promoted Heather Fuller to vice president of sales. Fuller has been with the company more than five years, most recently as the senior director of sales. In her new role, she will spearhead sales initiatives and lead customer relations.
Fuller’s career in fresh produce has focused on the organic channel for the last decade, working for family-owned farming companies. Her customer-centric approach and ability to adapt to the constant change in the marketplace has made her an integral part of the sales management team,” said Peter Cling, senior vice president of operations.

Center for Growing Talent by PMA has announced the newest addition to a suite of development opportunities for produce and floral industry young professionals. The new offering is a 12-month online certificate program focused on Management Fundamentals for Young Professionals developed in partnership with The University of Arizona’s Eller Executive Education program. The certificate, sponsored by Oppy, is the first step for young professionals in the industry to build essential management knowledge and skills to advance their careers in the produce and floral industries.

The idea of helping fight food insecurity has been instilled in Leslie Gordon since she was a child.
“I was meant to be in food-banking,” she said. “My grandfather’s name was Norman Goldberg, and he used to tell us stories that sometimes when he was younger, the only thing he would have to eat in a day was an apple that he would pick from a neighboring farmer’s tree. So, he knew what it was to be hungry.”
Her grandfather grew up in Rockland, NY, and later in life was “lucky economically,” and quietly but intentionally, made sure that people had what they needed when it came to food.
Hot off the heels of United Fresh’s BrandStorm, there’s a renewed buzz around sustainability. For the produce industry, this isn’t a new topic. We’ve been pounding the pavement and leading the charge on everything from drip irrigation to more eco-friendly packaging.
